About the position

The Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Career Consultant is responsible for providing individualized career services and case management to eligible veterans, their spouses, and veteran populations facing significant barriers to employment. This role involves assisting clients with job search strategies, skill assessments, and the development of employment plans to enhance their job readiness and placement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist eligible veterans and spouses with individualized career services and career planning.
  • Provide individual or group counseling and comprehensive skill assessments.
  • Develop individual employment plans and offer short-term pre-vocational services.
  • Facilitate work experiences and basic readjustment services for veterans.
  • Conduct career planning and case management for clients.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or two years of experience in customer service, quality assurance, administrative support, human resources, recruitment and placement, or social welfare programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn database programs.
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License and current Defensive Driving Course Certificate.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in recruiting jobs for veterans.
  • Customer service experience in a business office environment.
