About the position
The Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Career Consultant is responsible for providing individualized career services and case management to eligible veterans, their spouses, and veteran populations facing significant barriers to employment. This role involves assisting clients with career planning, skill assessments, and job placement services, ensuring they receive the support needed to secure meaningful employment.
Responsibilities
- Assist eligible veterans and spouses with individualized career services and planning.
- Provide individual or group counseling and comprehensive skill assessments.
- Develop individual employment plans and offer short-term pre-vocational services.
- Facilitate work experiences and basic readjustment services for clients.
- Conduct career planning and case management for veterans facing employment barriers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or two years of experience in customer service, quality assurance, administrative support, human resources, recruitment, or social welfare programs.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn database programs.
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License and current Defensive Driving Course Certificate.
