The Research Associate I (RA I) position at the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on health policy and programs. The RA I will be a vital member of multiple research projects, evaluation, technical assistance, policy development, and programmatic teams focused on substance use and addictive diseases. This role involves providing research and project support that contributes to a scientifically sound background for the center's activities. The RA I will coordinate special projects as assigned by senior staff, facilitate meetings, and assist in the preparation, coordination, and dissemination of various GHPC research-related materials on behavioral health, including substance use and addictive disease. In this position, the RA I will support the substance use and addictive disease (SUD) portfolio, which includes evaluating and informing related policies and providing program implementation support, monitoring, evaluation, and training and technical assistance across community and residential prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery programs funded by state and federal partners. The RA I will serve as project support staff by providing administrative and research assistance to existing contracts and grants, and will be involved in designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation to address health-related problems, publishing results in professional conferences and peer-reviewed journals. The role also requires drafting reports, abstracts, briefing papers, literature reviews, presentations, and other research-related communications. The RA I will conduct desk reviews, environmental scans, community mapping, and other exploratory and information-gathering methods. Additionally, the RA I will facilitate group meetings, coordinate special GHPC projects, assist senior staff in identifying and responding to new research and funding opportunities, and provide data-informed technical assistance to partners to support decision-making, capacity-building, and sustainability at the practice, programming, and policy levels.
