About the position

The Sponsored Research Contracting Analyst plays a crucial role in the Sponsored Research Contracting and Compliance team at the SDSU Research Foundation. This position involves reviewing, analyzing, and processing award agreements and subagreements to ensure compliance with institutional requirements. The analyst will collaborate with various departments to facilitate the negotiation and administration of research contracts, contributing to the university's mission of advancing research and community solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and process award agreements and prior authorizations to expend documents.
  • Draft and process subagreements and amendments for review and signature using approved templates.
  • Ensure that all relevant compliance requirements are satisfied before finalizing awards and subagreements.
  • Assist the Director in reviewing and implementing procedures related to the processing of awards and preparation of subagreements.
  • Participate on committees and/or task force groups as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of sufficient college coursework to perform the required duties of the position.
  • Two years of progressively responsible related experience, with one year of full-time experience substitutable for college coursework requirement.
  • Experience in an institution of higher education, research institution, or non-profit organization, or related contract review experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working in sponsored programs related compliance, award review and processing, and subagreement preparation.
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulations and requirements.
  • Experience using software for research administration such as Banner, Etrieve, InfoEd, or other internal award tracking systems.
