About the position
The Sponsored Research Contracts and Compliance Analyst at San Diego State University Research Foundation plays a crucial role in supporting the university's research objectives by managing the receipt, review, and processing of awards. This position ensures compliance with institutional requirements and collaborates with various departments to facilitate effective award negotiations and subcontracting processes.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, document, and process award agreements and prior authorizations to expend documents.
- Draft and process subagreements and amendments for review and signature using approved templates.
- Ensure that all relevant compliance is in place before finalizing awards and subagreements.
- Assist the Director in reviewing and implementing procedures related to the processing of awards and preparation of subagreements.
- Participate on committees and/or task force groups as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of sufficient college coursework to successfully perform the required duties of the position.
- Two years of progressively responsible related experience in an institution of higher education, research institution, or non-profit organization, or related contract review experience.
- One year of full-time progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for college coursework requirement.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience working in sponsored programs related compliance, award review and processing, and subagreement preparation.
- Previous experience interpreting and applying regulations and requirements.
- Experience using software for research administration such as Banner, Etrieve, InfoEd, or other internal award tracking systems.
