About the position

The Sponsorship Marketing Manager at Toyota is responsible for overseeing the sponsorship portfolio strategy, including KPI setting and measurement for various partnerships such as NFL and multicultural agency sponsorships. This role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment with Toyota's brand goals and business objectives, while also managing a team to maximize sponsorship effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a Sponsorship strategy for Marketing driven by strategic insights that support Toyota's brand goals.
  • Develop and communicate strong KPIs supporting the strategy, including evaluation of existing and potential partnerships.
  • Establish processes and procedures that support the overarching strategy and gain consensus with key stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 1 senior planner, 1 planner, and 1 Sponsorship coordinator to ensure alignment with TMNA Brand and business objectives.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary tools to activate and maximize all sponsorships.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, sponsorship partners, and supporting agencies to deliver on contractual obligations.
  • Create a tracking and communication system with the Media team to ensure partner obligations are met and identify Kaizen opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary interface with NFL and all partners on campaign development.
  • Implement and evaluate a measurement process for sponsorship opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Lead department budget and financial processes throughout the fiscal year, including annual and quarterly plans and forecasts.
  • Work closely with TMNA Legal to ensure contracts meet legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience in daily security and/or emergency operations management.
  • Strong understanding of Automotive/manufacturing culture and ability to adjust communication style accordingly.
  • Marketing experience and working with agencies.
  • Experience creating compelling presentations for executive and broad audiences.
  • Understanding of marketing metrics and analytics for data-driven decision support.
  • Understanding of complex media plans, defining KPIs, and applying post-mortem learnings to future campaigns.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ during peak production season.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree: MBA preferred.
  • Experience in overseeing large 3rd party security operations and vendors.
  • Relevant sponsorship marketing experience.
  • Bi/multi-lingual (particularly Japanese).
