About the position
The Sport Performance Coach at Temple High School is responsible for enhancing the athletic performance of student-athletes through the design and implementation of speed and agility training programs. This role involves collaboration with coaches and athletic trainers to ensure effective training while minimizing injuries. The coach will oversee the daily operations of the strength and conditioning facility and promote a positive athletic environment within the school district.
Responsibilities
- Design and supervise speed and agility training and conditioning programs for all sports in Temple ISD.
- Collaborate with middle school coaches to implement effective training models.
- Work with athletic trainers to minimize and rehabilitate injuries.
- Oversee daily operations of the strength and conditioning facility.
- Prepare organized speed and agility training plans for maximum team potential.
- Plan and direct summer speed and agility camps for athletes.
- Communicate expected student behavior and ensure compliance.
- Establish and monitor rules for the use of strength and conditioning facilities.
- Supervise athletes to ensure safety and security during workouts.
- Keep the Athletic Director informed of program events and promote positive community relations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Teacher Certification preferred
- Experience in speed and agility training
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist or similar certification preferred
- Prior coaching experience at high school or collegiate level
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- CDL or willingness to obtain within a year
- Familiarity with UIL rules and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience in coaching at the collegiate level
- Advanced certifications in strength and conditioning
- Experience in injury rehabilitation techniques.
