About the position

The Sporting Goods Retail Supervisor at MonkeySports is responsible for leading the retail team to provide exceptional customer service and achieve sales goals. This role involves training and coaching staff, managing store operations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. The supervisor will play a key role in guiding customers in selecting sports equipment and fostering a team-oriented environment focused on performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the store associates.
• Support the Assistant Manager and Manager in developing a strong sales environment focused on teamwork and customer service.
• Ensure store sales goals are achieved by providing leadership and direction in sales techniques, customer service, product knowledge, and store communications.
• Support the Assistant Manager and Store Manager by implementing and assisting in employee training and development.
• Provide coaching and direction on a day-to-day basis to ensure staff performance standards are met.
• Perform good customer service by assisting customers in person or on the phone.
• Provide information to customers on current product features and benefits.
• Resolve customer complaints and answer product and order inquiries.
• Perform regular daily store activities such as opening and closing procedures, balancing registers, preparing cash bags, and activating the security system.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels through ongoing communication with Assistant Manager, Store Manager, and Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist Store Manager in implementing and maintaining management systems for sales tracking, organization, controlling, and auditing store operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years retail management/supervisory experience.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree a plus (in business with an emphasis in retailing or other related field preferred).
• Moderate computer skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and as the business dictates.
• Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
