About the position

The North Platte Community College is looking for a full-time athletic communications specialist to enhance the promotion of its athletic programs. This role involves managing the athletic website and social media, creating promotional materials, and collaborating with local media to ensure effective coverage of athletic events. The specialist will also assist in organizing special athletic events and maintain historical archives for all athletic programs.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance of the North Platte Community College athletic website and social media channels.
• Creation of promotional materials including press releases, gameday programs, graphics, media guides and pregame and postgame recaps.
• Display expertise in videography & photography.
• Work closely with local media pertaining to the promotion and coverage of athletics.
• Assist with special athletic events including media days, color games and press conferences.
• Record and maintain accurate historical archives for all athletic programs.
• Adhere to NJCAA and NPCC policies.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Public Information.

Requirements

• Associate degree and demonstrated experience required.
• Knowledge of collegiate athletics specifically men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, softball, baseball and golf.
• Strong writing and grammar skills.
• Detail-oriented and an excellent communicator.
• Skilled in basic computer applications, specifically MS Office products.
• General knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of photography and videography is preferred.
• Enthusiastic and willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Positive attitude with a high level of professionalism and courteousness.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in creating promotional materials for athletic programs.
• Familiarity with social media marketing strategies.
• Experience in event planning and coordination.
