About the position

CBS O&O in Dallas (KTVT) is seeking a dynamic and enterprising Sports Multi-Skilled Journalist/Producer who will produce engaging content for various platforms, focusing on storytelling in the sports genre. The role requires a passionate photographer with on-air presentation skills, capable of connecting with diverse sports audiences in the North Texas region. The ideal candidate will have creative control over their stories, from shooting and editing to integrating graphics, while maintaining journalistic integrity and meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop enterprise content that connects with the DFW Market.
• Produce content for on-air, online, and streaming platforms.
• Contribute to the editorial process with consistent story pitches.
• Meet daily deadlines while maintaining journalistic integrity.
• Shoot, edit, write, and produce entertaining and informational stories and sportscasts across multiple platforms.
• Utilize social media platforms to connect with the audience and implement the station's strategy.
• Supply material to KTVT's social media and digital platforms.
• Prepare, coordinate, and edit on-air material for daily sportscasts.
• Work under extreme deadline pressure to create compelling sportscasts in consultation with sports anchors and news managers.
• Monitor and log televised sports events and interviews.
• Conceive, create, and order graphics.
• Field produce as needed.
• Maintain a commitment to accuracy, fairness, and ethics.
• Contribute story ideas and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience working with iNews and Grass Valley is desired.
• Strong technical skills in shooting, editing, and creating graphics.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues in the field.
• Dynamic on-air presence and ability to deliver news creatively and concisely.
• Engagement with digital platforms and multi-platform content distribution.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a Sports MSJ in a top 10 market preferred.
• Knowledge of DFW-area sports.
• Experience with non-linear editing and Grass Valley edit system.
