WGBA, the NBC affiliate in Green Bay, WI, owned by The E.W. Scripps Company, is searching for a Sports Reporter / Multimedia Journalist. Green Bay, also known as Titletown, is synonymous with tradition, excellence, and winning. This mindset is essential for any reporter in this role. As the official station of the Green Bay Packers, we broadcast all preseason games and many regular season games. The Packers are a way of life in Wisconsin, and our sports team embodies this spirit. However, we are not limited to just the Green and Gold; our team leads the market in sports journalism with ongoing series like Youth Sports: Beyond the Score. We produce live high school football games weekly and are the broadcast partners of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Wisconsin Herd. With the 2025 NFL Draft set to take place in Green Bay, we are looking for a sports reporter who is passionate about local sports and eager to innovate through content and creativity. In this role, you will receive assignments or evaluate news leads and tips to develop story ideas. You will gather and verify factual information regarding stories through interviews, observations, and research. Organizing material, determining slant or emphasis, and writing stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards will be key responsibilities. You will also shoot video and still photos to illustrate stories, edit videos for all multimedia platforms, and appear on television in live or pre-recorded situations. Live reporting from the site of events or mobile broadcast units will be part of your duties, as well as working cooperatively with photographers assigned to stories. Additionally, you will assist news producers in preparing newscasts and help online staff prepare multimedia stories.
