About the position

WACH is seeking a Sports/Multimedia Journalist who will be responsible for reporting, producing, and shooting/editing daily sports segments. The role involves engaging with the digital audience through social media and producing content across various platforms, including television and the internet. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing skills and a good understanding of current sporting events.

Responsibilities

• Report, produce, and shoot/edit daily sports segments.
• Engage with the digital audience through relevant social media posts.
• Develop story ideas and maintain contacts within the sports community.
• Produce daily content for television, internet, and mobile platforms.
• Enterprising story ideas and generating original content.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required.
• Experience with live shots is required.
• Excellent technical skills and sharp news judgment.
• Ability to work independently and generate story ideas daily.
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of current sporting events.
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Live-U is a plus.
• Ability to maintain an active social media presence.
