About the position

WACH is seeking a Sports/Multimedia Journalist who will be responsible for reporting, producing, and shooting/editing daily sports segments. The role involves engaging with the digital audience through social media and creating content across various platforms, including television and the internet. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing skills and a good understanding of current sporting events.

Responsibilities

• Report, produce, and shoot/edit daily sports segments.
• Engage with the digital audience through relevant social media posts.
• Develop story ideas and maintain contacts in the sports community.
• Produce daily content for television, internet, and social networking sites.
• Maintain an active social media presence to build the brand and solicit story ideas.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required.
• Experience with live shots is required.
• Excellent writing skills and knowledge of current sporting events.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and generate story ideas.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Live-U is a plus.
