About the position

The Sports Safety Educator at the Hospital for Special Surgery is a part-time role focused on providing public health-based education to athletes, coaches, parents, teachers, and administrators. This position is integral to the Athlete Health Program, where the educator will deliver workshops, contribute to educational material development, and participate in clinical research data collection.

Responsibilities

• Deliver educational workshops and training sessions under the direction of the HSS Athlete Health Program Manager.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of educational materials and program curricula under the direction of the HSS Athlete Health Program Manager.
• Participate in data collection for clinical research studies and education outcomes under the direction of the HSS Athlete Health Program Director.

Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology or a closely related field.
• 3 to 5 years' clinical experience.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Outstanding communication and human interaction skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM) certification.
• Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM) certification.
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) certification.
• Demonstrated history of public speaking.
• Experience in sports injury prevention program development.
• Experience in development and implementation of public health education programs.
