About the position
The Quality Assurance Analyst I at SMT is an entry-level position focused on supporting software development and product management through rigorous testing and troubleshooting methods. This role is essential for ensuring the quality and functionality of innovative sports technology products before they are deployed in the field. The QA Analyst will work closely with multiple Scrum teams and will be responsible for both manual and automated testing, as well as troubleshooting customer-reported issues.
Responsibilities
- Testing and deployment of innovative new product releases.
- Troubleshooting customer-reported field issues for existing product releases.
- Performing manual, functional, and regression testing of SMT base products.
- Isolating, replicating, and documenting defects and verifying fixes.
- Creating product test checklists, scripts, scenarios, and end-to-end test plans.
- Using high-level acceptance test tools for automated testing of SMT base products.
- Identifying test requirements from specifications prior to product development.
- Creating clear, concise, detail-oriented acceptance test suites.
- Ensuring validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications.
- Writing front-end tests prior to product development.
- Working within multiple Scrum teams to test project-related software and build install scripts.
- Assisting in the build and maintenance of SMT building and test lab equipment and software.
- Supporting customers dynamically in the field with periodic on-call responsibilities.
- Providing thorough and accurate written and verbal updates to managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or comparable industry experience.
- 2+ years' experience with software QA and using automated test tools preferred.
- 2+ years' experience with an agile (Scrum)-based test-driven software development life cycle preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of major sports.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to efficiently working problems to resolution.
- A self-motivated mentality with stellar time management and organizational skills.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A positive 'can-do' attitude when troubleshooting or problem solving.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
