About the position

As a Sportsbook Ticket Writer at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations while actively promoting Caesars Entertainment. This position requires you to be knowledgeable about our innovative range of betting offers and effectively communicate these to our customers. You will be responsible for writing tickets, processing cash winning tickets, and handling customer inquiries and disputes. Your ability to create a welcoming environment for all customers, whether they are regulars or infrequent visitors, is essential. You will engage in conversations with customers, patiently explaining how wagering works to those who may not be familiar with the process. Compliance with Gaming Control Board reporting requirements is a must, and you will be expected to call for MTL support when necessary. Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to the Uniform Policy is also part of your responsibilities. You will anticipate customer needs, seek feedback, and report any issues affecting the customer experience promptly. Additionally, you will set an example of hospitality and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, reporting any hazards to the Sports Book Supervisor. This role may also involve additional tasks as requested to support the operations of the sportsbook.

Responsibilities

  • Counts cash at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Ensures all customers feel welcome at all times
  • Carries out engaging conversations and provides friendly service to customers
  • Shows patience with customers who do not wager regularly and explains how wagering works
  • Commits to working in a compliant environment and adheres to Gaming Control Board reporting requirements
  • Calls for MTL support when writing bets requiring MTL paperwork
  • Adheres to Uniform Policy and maintains a good standard of personal presentation
  • Anticipates and acts on the needs of the customer, seeking and responding to feedback
  • Reports promptly any issues affecting the customer experience in the sportsbook
  • Undertakes additional tasks contributing to the operations of the sportsbook as requested

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior casino experience is preferred
  • Genuinely interested in working with and helping customers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prefer working as part of a team
  • Well-presented, polite, tactful and friendly
  • Numerate, lively and quick-thinking
  • Ability to resolve complaints and difficult situations in a calm and patient manner
