About the position
The position involves managing and expanding the rental and sales business for portable air conditioning and heating units at Spot Coolers, a leading provider in the industry. The role requires a combination of technical skills and customer service expertise to promote innovative solutions, manage a local team, and ensure superior service delivery to clients. The candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, maintaining customer relationships, and overseeing the rental fleet and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Motivate, manage, and train the local team to grow the portable equipment rental and sales business.
- Lead the local team to provide superior customer service and response time.
- Assist in delivering and installing equipment to meet business requirements.
- Achieve annual sales and gross margin targets as defined by management.
- Establish professional relationships with existing customers to ensure their needs are met and identify growth opportunities.
- Identify prospects and educate them on products and services to increase the client base and sales.
- Develop rental and sale quotes from initial requests or site surveys and follow them through to closure.
- Participate in outside sales activities for prospects to support the business strategy defined by leadership.
- Support the Area Manager on target accounts or territories and maintain a personal pipeline and customer log.
- Manage the rental fleet, new equipment, and accessory inventory along with delivery trucks to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Manage administrative functions along with shipping and receiving of all materials to and from the location.
- Maintain a safe work environment for employees at company and customer locations.
- Be available to work after hours, weekends, or holidays based on a rotating on-call branch schedule.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of experience working as an HVAC Technician or in HVAC Operations or 2+ years of experience working in HVAC Sales.
Nice-to-haves
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Previous rentals or portable HVAC experience
- Previous commercial or residential HVAC experience
- Previous HVAC sales experience is highly preferred
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous customer service experience
