About the position

The Spotter at NFI Industries is responsible for driving, transporting, and spotting trailers at designated loading docks and staging areas. This role involves attaching the drive unit to trailers to facilitate their movement to and from dock doors for efficient loading and unloading. The Spotter plays a crucial role in ensuring that operations run smoothly and safely within the logistics environment. In addition to the primary responsibilities of moving trailers, the Spotter is required to conduct inspections of the truck for defects before and after trips, submitting reports that detail the condition of the truck. This position also involves assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. The Spotter may be assigned additional duties as instructed by management and may be required to operate power industrial equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and mathematical skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. The role requires the ability to work independently and follow established policies and safety procedures. Candidates must be prepared to lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs without restriction and be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as the position may require irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and potentially holidays, depending on customer needs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures.
