About the position

Kroger is seeking dynamic and creative thinkers with a passion for food to join their Spring Internship Program. This 15-week immersive experience is designed for current college students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment. The internship runs from January 13 to April 25, 2025, and offers students the opportunity to grow their careers through a variety of focused assignments. Interns will have the chance to drive projects, refine their professional skills, and work alongside industry leaders while connecting with other students from across the country. The program is open to all majors, provided that students are actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university, with a preferred GPA of 3.2. Interns will work within the Kroger Corporate Office's Retail Operations department, collaborating with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the department's functions. This role emphasizes the application of theoretical concepts acquired in the classroom to real-world retail operations, allowing interns to interact with various business sections and corporate groups. Interns will assist the Retail Operations team with daily tasks, support the maintenance and improvement of business reporting functions, and participate in weekly department meetings. They will also have the opportunity to complete specific internship assignments and a cumulative project summarizing their accomplishments, which they will present to the leadership team or appropriate managers. Throughout the internship, interns are expected to demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety, while also being able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Kroger Corporate Office Retail Operations department to gain an understanding of the department.
  • Apply theoretical concepts acquired in the classroom to retail operations line of business.
  • Interact with all business sections of the Retail Operations department and other corporate groups.
  • Assist the Retail Operations team with daily tasks and gain understanding of the responsibilities and retail business.
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of business reporting functions.
  • Support the teams' projects.
  • Participate in weekly department meetings.
  • Travel to off-site locations as required.
  • Complete specific internship assignments as requested.
  • Complete cumulative project (summary of internship accomplishments) and present to leadership team or appropriate managers.

Requirements

  • Must be a current college student actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work.
  • Ability to respond to changing business priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
