About the position

The Guild of Boston Artists is offering a Spring 2025 Gallery Administration Internship for undergraduate students. This internship provides an opportunity to assist in the daily operations of a non-profit gallery, focusing on inventory management, online presence maintenance, research, and event assistance. Interns will gain valuable experience in gallery operations and have access to industry professionals for career development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inventory management including cataloging paintings and maintaining digital inventories.
  • Handle art including packing for storage and shipment.
  • Maintain the gallery's online presence, including the Artsy.net profile and social media platforms.
  • Conduct research and writing assignments related to upcoming exhibitions and events.
  • Draft press releases and design email correspondence for promotional tasks.
  • Assist executive staff in curating and hanging exhibitions and managing gallery events.
  • Support daily operations of the gallery.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in fine arts, art history, and gallery or non-profit administration.
