About the position

Thus, through our enriching co-op and intern program, we help develop the next-generation of engineers and technologists. As a Spring 2025 Intern in the Chief Technology Office, you will have the opportunity to develop our industry-leading simulation software while gaining real experience in your field of study. You will support the Office of the CTO by contributing to researching and implementing new algorithms for machine learning models in the context of numerical methods, simulations, and 3D understanding using deep learning and other related fields. This internship is a 40-hour per week paid position, providing a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the sharpest minds in the industry and contribute to projects that drive human advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop deep learning algorithms focusing on physics, vision, transformers, and diffusion models.
  • Create datasets, label data, and train machine learning algorithms using deep learning or reinforcement learning techniques.
  • Implement solutions in experimental code (Python, TensorFlow, Pytorch) using industry best practices in software development.
  • Test the algorithms developed and share results and training curves.
  • Design and develop code with Unit Testing and TDD (test-driven design) based on a specific list of engineering scenarios.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a MS or PhD program pursuing a degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
  • Experience with machine learning using scripting languages such as Python/R and GPU programming.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience using machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or Pytorch.
  • Preferred experience in machine learning using 3D and geometry.
  • Preferred experience using 3D software for datasets creation.
  • Preferred experience with object-oriented languages such as C++ or Python.
  • Preferred experience with source control such as GIT, SVN.
