About the position

The Spring Musical Projections Designer will collaborate with the creative team to design and execute projections that enhance the storytelling of the school’s spring musical. This part-time role involves creating custom imagery and animations, as well as utilizing designs from the scenic designer, to effectively set the stage for performances. The position requires a strong background in theatrical practices and the ability to mentor high school students involved in the production.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative team to design and execute projections for the spring musical.
• Create custom imagery and animations for the production.
• Utilize designs provided by the scenic designer to enhance the performance.
• Mentor and teach high school students interested in theatrical production.
• Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.
• Adapt designs and projections to suit the needs of the production.

Requirements

• Experience working with middle school to high school aged students in a theatrical setting.
• Strong knowledge of theatrical practices, principles, and terminology.
• Proficiency in Qlab software and Adobe software.
• Strong skills in video design and effects.
• Familiarity with Apple operating systems.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with the creative team and other designers.
• Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and other word processing applications.
