About the position

The Sprinkler Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling fire sprinkler systems to general contractors and end users within a designated territory. This role involves estimating and quoting fire sprinkler systems for various facilities, establishing and maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The representative will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring travel to customer sites and a focus on sales and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, select, and develop new and existing customer accounts.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers to ensure satisfaction with products and services.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met and resolve customer problems promptly.
  • Provide quotes to customers for service and follow up on impairments.
  • Schedule sales calls and follow up on leads using marketing strategies.
  • Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to promote company offerings.
  • Close sales to exceed sales plan objectives.
  • Read blueprints and understand NFPA 13, 14, and 20 standards and local codes.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers, general contractors, and end users.
  • Work with branch personnel to ensure excellent customer service from order to delivery.
  • Perform customer surveys as required.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations.
  • Obtain necessary licensing and manufacturers' certifications.
  • Complete scheduling and execution of monthly calls as assigned by management.
  • Execute company processes and complete paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Enhance sales skills and product knowledge to maintain a professional image in the field.
  • Read architectural and mechanical drawings to determine proper sprinkler locations for projects.
  • Travel to customer and job sites as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of experience selling service contracts in the Fire Protection industry is required.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 is required.
  • Knowledge of industry standard practices for service and inspection is required.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree in a technical or business discipline or related to the sprinkler fire suppression business is a plus.
  • Previous sprinkler design experience including estimating and performing hydraulic calculations is a plus.
