About the position

S.A. Comunale is seeking a dedicated Sprinkler Sales Representative to join our team in Cleveland, OH. This role is pivotal in promoting and selling our fire sprinkler offerings to various General Contractor customers and end users within an assigned territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and quoting fire sprinkler systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities, while also focusing on building new business relationships and associations. The position requires a proactive approach to establishing contact with prospects, qualifying potential buyers, and utilizing effective marketing strategies to drive sales. In this fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, the Sprinkler Sales Representative will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction. Responsibilities include identifying and developing new customer accounts, maintaining effective communication with existing customers, and ensuring that contractual obligations are met. The representative will also be tasked with resolving customer issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring that all quotes and follow-ups are handled in a timely manner. The role demands familiarity with reading blueprints and understanding current NFPA 13, 14, and 20 standards, as well as local codes. The representative will work closely with other branch personnel to ensure seamless customer service from order to delivery. Additionally, the position requires travel to customer and job sites as necessary, making it essential for candidates to possess a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record. Responsibilities

  • Professionally represent the Company in promoting and selling fire sprinkler offerings.
  • Estimate and quote fire sprinkler systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
  • Build new business associations and relationships with customers.
  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers of fire protection contracts.
  • Schedule sales calls and follow up on leads using marketing strategies.
  • Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain understanding of company offerings.
  • Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives.
  • Read blueprints and understand NFPA 13, 14, and 20 standards and local codes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing and new customers, general contractors, and end users.
  • Work with branch personnel to ensure excellent customer service from order to delivery.
  • Perform customer surveys as required/requested.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations.
  • Obtain necessary licensing and manufacturers' certifications to perform job functions.
  • Complete scheduling and execution of monthly calls as assigned by management.
  • Execute all Company processes and complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Enhance sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field.
  • Determine proper sprinkler locations for new construction and remodel projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of experience selling service contracts in the Fire Protection industry is required.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 is required.
  • Knowledge of industry standard practices for service and inspection is required.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree in a technical or business discipline or related to the sprinkler fire suppression business is a plus.
  • Previous sprinkler design experience including estimating and performing hydraulic calculations is a plus.
