About the position

Nintendo of America Inc. is seeking a Supervisor for Supply Chain Operations to join our team in North Bend, WA. This position plays a crucial role in managing the workflow and staffing levels to meet business needs effectively. The Supervisor will forecast work volume, manage work schedules, and act as a liaison with other departments to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will set performance goals and deadlines that align with the company's vision and plans, while also identifying the strengths and weaknesses of team members to delegate tasks appropriately. In this role, the Supervisor will ensure that incoming and outgoing shipments are accurately received, tracked, and transferred. They will investigate and resolve any freight discrepancies and issues that may arise. The Supervisor may oversee both automated and manual production lines, as well as pick/pack assembly lines, managing complex projects and adapting to fluctuating deadlines. It is essential that the Supervisor ensures that all tasks are performed according to training, safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, while also adhering to company policies and established guidelines for quality, efficiency, and accuracy. The Supervisor will facilitate the resolution of challenges, discrepancies, or miscommunications swiftly and effectively. They will drive innovation within the team, developing methods for gathering metrics and conducting workflow analysis to enhance quality and efficiency. A solid understanding of basic business finance is necessary, as the Supervisor will assist in fiscal year budget planning and report key metrics. Additionally, the Supervisor will monitor and evaluate team performance, coordinating with management and Human Resources to address personnel and performance issues, and will be responsible for hiring decisions for hourly personnel. This position requires a proactive and self-motivated individual with strong organizational, coaching, and leadership abilities. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, as is the ability to delegate effectively and foster growth among team members. The Supervisor must be adept at problem-solving and decision-making, capable of handling confidential and sensitive matters with discretion. Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with IBM iSeries and Oracle EBS Applications is preferred. A background in business or manufacturing, along with specialized training in automated warehouse packaging and distribution systems, is also advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and evaluates team performance and assesses staff for the semi-annual review process.
  • Coordinates with Manager and Human Resource representatives to resolve personnel/performance issues.
  • Responsible for hiring decisions of hourly personnel and makes recommendations to manager for salary level.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of related experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational, coaching, and leadership abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to present thoughts and feelings openly and constructively.
  • Effective use of nonverbal communication and body language.
  • Ability to delegate effectively allowing others to grow and work on meaningful tasks.
  • Ability to identify, define, and analyze problems; develop decision-making strategies; generate potential solutions; judge and evaluate results; choose and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential and/or sensitive matters.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Power Point); IBM iSeries and Oracle EBS Applications knowledge preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Specialized training in automated warehouse packaging and distribution systems or equivalent preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
