About the position

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented SQA Tester to support Federal Government projects, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This full-time remote position requires an experienced professional to manage test events, coordinate with developers, and ensure compliance with testing documentation standards. The role involves leading testing efforts, monitoring defect reports, and creating comprehensive test reports.

Responsibilities

• Support Federal Agencies requirements, with a preference for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
• Manage and help staff test events with appropriate resources.
• Coordinate with developers and functional analysts to create test plans and test scripts.
• Lead and conduct testing according to Master Test Plan specifications.
• Review and approve test reports.
• Monitor and update defect and bug reports.
• Create test reports.

Requirements

• Outstanding communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Experience in both Automated and Manual testing policies and procedures.
• Experience testing with MUMPS, VistA, and other VA systems.
• Experience with Electronic Data Interchanges (EDIs) and financial transaction systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in the coordination and management of test events according to approved test plans.
• Knowledge and skills to ensure accurate setup of test environments.
• Experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and procedures.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks.

• Experience working with remote U.S. based teams (Not Offshore teams).
• Professional Certifications.
