This is a hybrid position for a SQL and Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) at Cognizant, located in Charlotte, NC. The role is part of Cognizant's Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security Services Practice (CIS), which focuses on digital transformation and modernization of infrastructure and workplace environments. The DBA will be responsible for supervising and managing SQL Server and Oracle databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. This includes patching databases, handling backup incidents, and addressing performance issues. The DBA will also collaborate with application teams to assist with code deployments, ensuring that database operations align with application requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly with SQL Server and Oracle. They should possess hands-on knowledge of various database management tools and technologies, including SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle RAC, RMAN, and Oracle Data Pump. Strong communication skills are essential, as the DBA will need to define and adhere to robust process management activities. Additionally, relevant certifications in Oracle and Microsoft databases will be considered advantageous.
