About the position

The SQL Business Solutions Developer III at Centene is responsible for planning, conceptualizing, configuring, and building solutions to address Claims Configuration and Provider Data challenges. This role involves conducting research, gathering requirements, and overseeing the development process while acting as a subject matter expert and mentor to colleagues. The position emphasizes the ability to provide self-sufficient solutions and improve processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solutions to Provider Data and Claims Configuration challenges such as new implementations and process improvements
  • Design workflows showing current state versus future state
  • Write code for software programs and applications, working with classes, using inheritance and virtualization, and following best programming practices
  • Perform complex research and advanced analysis; find/create best solutions to stakeholder requests or problems; identify the best method or tool to develop solutions
  • Collaborate with and mentor peers on development and solution strategy; conduct regular code reviews and pull requests; partner with the team to identify efficient and effective scalable product solutions
  • Lead and facilitate meetings to conduct requirements gathering; maintain communication with stakeholders during solution development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Completion of a technical training program (e.g., LaunchCode, FDM, etc.) may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
  • Experience with one or more of the following: SQL, Claims Configuration, Provider Data, Visio or other process workflow software
