About the position

The SQL Data Architect will serve as a key member of the cloud team, responsible for defining tools, processes, and methods to support the enterprise's adoption of managed cloud services. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL database architecture and cloud solutions, particularly in AWS and Azure environments. The architect will consult with users to determine system specifications and will be a trusted advisor in data services, ensuring the integrity and performance of large datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
  • Define tools, processes, and methods for cloud service offerings.
  • Develop systems that utilize Private and Public clouds (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Implement and troubleshoot SSIS ETL tasks for large datasets.
  • Master stored procedures, SQL coding, queries, and database performance tuning.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data integrity issues.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, business architects, analysts, and development teams to deliver complex solutions.
  • Manage large enterprise SQL environments and implement large ETL processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in developing and working with SQL Databases.
  • T-SQL database development experience with SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher.
  • Strong experience in implementing and troubleshooting SSIS ETL tasks.
  • Mastery of stored procedures, SQL coding, queries, and database IO performance tuning.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Data Warehouse design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with table spaces, indexes, partitions, and query performance tuning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of large teams.
  • Experience in defining Enterprise Architectures and managing large SQL environments.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in programming or scripting languages (4+ years).
  • Ability to gather customer requirements and translate them into actionable plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Operating systems, Network, Security, and other RDS systems.
  • Experience with cloud services beyond AWS, such as Azure or Google Cloud.
