About the position

The SQL Data Developer is responsible for extracting, cleaning, and maintaining data from Microsoft SQL relational databases to meet the needs of internal and external audiences. This role involves collaboration with team members to understand data requirements and generate Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reports using Microsoft Reporting Studio tools. The position emphasizes a commitment to racial and ethnic equity and antiracism.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced queries using SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
• Provide troubleshooting support and improve query quality/accuracy.
• Develop proficiency in SmartCare Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR) system and understand its table structure.
• Update, maintain, and troubleshoot Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Design, develop, and test reports and forms in SmartCare EHR to support organizational programs.
• Collaborate with Information Services and Applied Research and Evaluation staff on data and reporting needs.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience using relational databases and SQL query tools.
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Experience with Microsoft Reporting Technology and source control management, preferably in Visual Studio.
• Expertise in developing business intelligence visualizations, preferably in Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, innovation, and leadership in data usage.
