About the position

The SQL Data Engineer role focuses on developing and executing ETL code to ensure reliable data loading processes and high data quality. The position involves creating reports, dashboards, and tools for business users, as well as developing technical solutions to enhance data access and usage. The role requires aggregating and analyzing various data sets to provide actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Writes and executes ETL code, primarily complex SQL script, while leveraging other technologies.
• Analyzes and validates existing routines and communicates impacts; assists with data transformation, manipulation, and presentation to users.
• Collaborates with Business Analysts, Business Intelligence Developers, Infrastructure Architects, and key business users to review, design, and develop data models and ETL processes.
• Supports the Software Engineering team with data analysis and validation using extensive SQL queries.
• Designs, configures, implements, monitors, and manages all aspects of the Data Integration Framework.
• Provides guidance and performs work related to modeling Data Warehouse solutions in the cloud or on-premise, understanding Dimensional Modeling, Denormalized Data Structures, OLAP, and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Defines Data Integration best practices for the data management environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years hands-on experience with database management systems.
• Strong experience with SQL.
• Some experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Abinitio, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of data exchange formats.
• Knowledge and understanding of database design and implementation concepts.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Knowledge and understanding of data movement concepts.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
