About the position

As a SQL Database Administrator at PRISM, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and implementing SQL clusters across various cloud environments. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the security of SQL instances, ensuring that backups are up-to-date, and performing other routine database activities. You will also be tasked with auditing and improving our cybersecurity measures, authorizing employee access, and troubleshooting any database issues that arise. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be involved in planning, designing, and executing migrations of SQL instances from one environment to another. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with agile development teams, attending daily scrums and providing data-related solutions to enhance team performance. You will also be responsible for optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary and developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other documentation within the team collaboration environment. Your role will require you to analyze and resolve data performance and quality issues while developing a strong understanding of customer baseline capabilities, design, and objectives. Staying current with industry knowledge of relevant concepts, practices, and procedures is essential. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing both remote and on-site responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement SQL clusters in different cloud environments.
  • Maintain security, backups, and other normal SQL instance and database activities.
  • Audit and improve cybersecurity measures.
  • Authorize employee access to databases.
  • Troubleshoot database issues as they arise.
  • Plan, design, and implement migrations of SQL instances from one environment to another.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active Secret clearance; must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • 6+ years as a database administrator or in a similar role with a focus on AWS environments.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Exhibit good time management skills and independent decision-making capability; focus on customer service.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline is required (Eight years of experience may be substituted for a degree).
  • Master's degree preferred.
