About the position

The SQL DBA position at our leading financial firm in Costa Mesa, CA, is focused on both development and administration of SQL databases. The role requires an experienced professional to manage and optimize SQL Server environments, develop reports, and assist in data warehousing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MS-SQL development and administration, with a proactive approach to database maintenance and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions as required.
• Develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Design and create ETL packages using SSIS and other tools.
• Assist with the design and implementation of data mart/warehouse initiatives.
• Migrate existing reports from Crystal Reports to SSRS reporting platform.
• Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and related products.
• Design and implement a SQL Server consolidation project.
• Collaborate with 3rd party development vendors to design, validate designs, and implement new application databases.
• Maintain and tune SQL databases and servers proactively.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in SQL database development and management on MS SQL 2000, 2005, 2008, and 2012.
• Strong experience with T-SQL, DTS, SSIS, Data Mining, OLAP, SSAS, SSRS, Cubes, and MDX.
• Experience in performance tuning and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience in developing reports on SSRS.
