About the position

The SQL Database Administrator position at TEKsystems involves providing essential support for the AFRL Rocket Lab's network and server infrastructure. The role focuses on day-to-day operations and maintenance within the Network Operations Center (NOC), ensuring the smooth functioning of database systems and related technical support. Candidates must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance and be U.S. citizens, as the position requires handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for day-to-day operations and maintenance within the NOC.
• Assist in the planning and upgrade of the NOC database.
• Install hardware and configure NetApp appliances.
• Write complex queries for applications on an RDT&E network.
• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher.
• Develop and implement enterprise database backup, recovery, and failover procedures.
• Triage server tickets utilizing Web Help Desk.
• Serve as a liaison for database-related queries and technical support between NOC and customers.
• Provide basic hardware, software, and network support and troubleshooting.
• Monitor network and storage devices using Solar Winds Orion software.
• Maintain uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices.
• Document technical details within Web Help Desk tickets.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Experience with SQL and database administration.
• Technical support and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with AWS and hardware/software installation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with NetApp appliances.
• Knowledge of enterprise database backup and recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with Solar Winds Orion software.
