About the position

The SQL Database Administrator at Digital Mobile Innovations LLC is responsible for architecting, managing, and optimizing the data infrastructure for the Telecom Expense Management SaaS platform. This role requires a strong technical background in Python, SQL, and AWS, focusing on maintaining database integrity and performance while enabling efficient data access for development teams. The DBA will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product features and data-driven decision-making processes, managing large volumes of complex data and ensuring the reliability of services for enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable relational database solutions for the TEM platform.
  • Define and enforce database architecture best practices, including schema design and indexing strategies.
  • Lead database capacity planning efforts to ensure scalability as the platform grows.
  • Continuously monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks and slow queries.
  • Optimize complex SQL queries to minimize response times and improve system performance.
  • Implement database performance tuning techniques, including indexing strategies and query optimization.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes to integrate and process data from multiple sources.
  • Write and maintain Python scripts for data ingestion, migration, and backup automation.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all environments.
  • Manage cloud databases hosted on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies using AWS tools.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate database deployments and monitor health.
  • Implement and enforce database security measures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Establish and maintain data governance policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with performance tuning.
  • Experience with AWS database services such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redshift.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
  • Strong understanding of database security and compliance regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data governance and data quality management.
  • Familiarity with telecom data and expense management systems.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or tools related to data management.
