About the position

The Senior SQL Database Analyst at The TAgency is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing database systems to support critical business applications. This role requires extensive experience in SQL and database technologies, with a focus on performance improvements, security, and data integrity. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to align database solutions with organizational objectives and ensure optimal database performance.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in the development and maintenance of Cyber and IA database systems while also offering database development resources to the development team.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases to support business applications.
• Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing.
• Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define database requirements and ensure data integrity.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for database systems.
• Conduct data analysis and generate reports to support business decision-making.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification or higher required.
• Previous experience as a Senior SQL Database Analyst (or similar role) in a matrixed, high-functioning organization.
• Previous experience working in roles with strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Basic knowledge of Oracle.
• Knowledge of XML, HTML, open-source development.
• Experience in data warehousing, report generation, job scheduling, and monitoring tools.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux, including basic shell commands.
• Strong technical documentation skills (Windows Office, Visio, CVS, etc.).
• Advanced certification and experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Professional certification at Technical Level III as defined by DODI 8570.
• Active secret clearance required.
• Must be a US citizen.
