About the position

The SQL Database Developer will be responsible for designing and developing database scripts, documenting solutions, and collaborating with front-end teams and business analysts to meet user requirements. This role requires strong database skills and experience in SQL performance tuning, as well as a solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles.

Responsibilities

• Design & develop database scripts
• Document and present solution alternatives to clients
• Work with front-end teams to understand data display capabilities
• Collaborate with business analysts to prioritize user requirements
• Follow software development lifecycle processes and standards
• Update technical detail design documents and Confluence Portal
• Collaborate with peer developers and business teams
• Update JIRA on a daily basis
• Write complex SQL queries incorporating joins, aggregations, and analytical functions
• Perform database performance tuning including indexing and analyzing SQL plans
• Develop and understand stored procedures, packages, and functions
• Utilize ETL tools, preferably Informatica
• Develop UNIX scripts
• Work within Agile/SCRUM methodology

Requirements

• Strong database skills
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries
• Experience with SQL database programming and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with database principles and concepts
• Solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles
• At least 5 years of experience with databases such as Postgres, Oracle, DB2, or Sybase
• Experience with ETL tools, preferably Informatica
• Knowledge in developing UNIX scripts
• Strong experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology
