About the position

The Database Developer will work closely with our data warehousing team to transform transactional data into datasets that are consumable by a variety of consumers for reporting and analytics purposes. This role requires a flexible and forward-leaning individual who is eager to learn new tools and skills, as well as new data domains as the data warehouse continues to grow. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating complex SQL queries in intricate data environments, troubleshooting issues, and tuning SQL for optimal performance. In addition to technical skills, the Database Developer will need to adopt a team-focused approach, collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) public trust clearance. Local residency in the National Capital Region is also a requirement for this role. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database development, particularly with SQL Server, and will be adept at performance tuning. Familiarity with other database systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and DB2 is preferred, as is experience in a government environment and database administration.
