About the position

The SQL DBA / Developer position is focused on managing and developing database systems, specifically utilizing Azure SQL DB and SQL Server. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and a process-oriented approach, with an emphasis on documentation and customer service. This is a contract-to-hire position based in Irving, TX, requiring onsite presence five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop database systems using Azure SQL DB and SQL Server.
• Support MySQL and MariaDB databases.
• Design and implement database architecture and dimensional data modeling.
• Assist in database migrations to Azure Cloud.
• Provide documentation and support for database systems.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of development experience using Azure SQL DB and SQL Server.
• 2+ years of experience supporting MySQL / MariaDB.
• 2+ years of experience in database architecture and dimensional data modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of experience in design and development of data systems (SQL Server based on Cloud/on premise and Analytics).
• 1+ year experience in building and supporting transactional systems and analytics systems (including data modeling).
• 1+ years assisting in Master Data Management efforts, including metadata management.
