About the position

The SQL DBA / Developer role is a key position within the Data and Analytics team, focusing on the management and optimization of both on-premises and cloud databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong business-centric approach to data architecture and will play a crucial role in the daily operations and long-term strategy of the organization's data assets.

Responsibilities

• Manages on-premises and cloud databases built with SQL Server and Azure SQL services.
• Implements and manages the operational aspects of cloud-native and on-premise data platform solutions built on SQL Server and Azure SQL services.
• Data systems architecture and modeling, designing, and development.
• Builds databases and validates their stability and efficiency.
• Creates and maintains views, functions, stored procedures, scripts, and triggers.
• Writes optimized SQL queries for integration of various business applications.
• Designs database tables and dictionaries.
• Maintains data quality, database backups, and oversees database security.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 4+ years of development experience using Azure SQL DB, SQL Server
• 1+ years of experience supporting MySQL / MariaDB
• 4+ years of database architecture and/or dimensional data modeling
• 1+ years of experience in operational SQL DB support
• Excellent prioritization skills
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Process oriented with great documentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
• Ability to act independently to resolve issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in automotive repair and/or insurance industries
• Cloud certification on any platform a plus
• Understanding of basic Azure Data Factory processing.
