About the position

The SQL DBA Developer role is focused on managing and optimizing MS/SQL databases, particularly in an AWS cloud environment. The position requires a seasoned DBA with expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and maintaining database health for large-scale applications. The ideal candidate will work with a 3rd party vendor-supplied application and will be responsible for ensuring the database can handle significant growth in data size.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage MS/SQL databases in an AWS cloud environment using RDS SQL Server Enterprise.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues as they arise.
• Perform performance tuning to optimize database efficiency.
• Implement ongoing database health check processes.
• Provide constructive feedback to application developers regarding database issues and improvements.
• Streamline large databases that scale significantly in size.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a SQL DBA.
• Proficient in MS/SQL 2019 and AWS cloud environments.
• Strong background in performance tuning and troubleshooting databases.
• Experience managing large databases, typically scaling by 2-3 terabytes monthly.
