About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead and build our database management practice. This role is designed for a hands-on leader who can manage complex database environments, drive innovation, and create a strong foundation for our database services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database architecture, administration, and best practices, along with the leadership skills to mentor and grow a high-performance team. The position is based in either New York, NY or Dallas, TX and is an onsite role. As the SQL DBA Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of robust database environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. You will build and develop the database practice by defining best practices, creating standards, and implementing training and development programs for the team. Your hands-on expertise in administering, tuning, and troubleshooting SQL databases will be crucial in ensuring optimal performance and reliability. In this role, you will oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical database systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders, will be essential to drive database strategy and deliver solutions aligned with business goals. Staying updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in database technologies will allow you to recommend upgrades or improvements as needed. You will also ensure compliance with industry regulations and implement appropriate security measures to safeguard sensitive data. Driving automation, monitoring, and proactive management of database systems will be key to minimizing downtime and streamlining operations. Additionally, you will mentor and lead a team of DBAs, providing technical guidance, coaching, and professional development to foster a high-performance environment.

Requirements
