About the position

The position involves collaborating with various teams to enhance database performance, manage data effectively, and ensure robust documentation. The role requires a strong focus on troubleshooting and resolving database issues while also improving infrastructure for automation and testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering team to develop an optimum configuration and improve database performance.
• Develop accurate documentation related to database management.
• Collaborate with Implementation teams on data management, backups, and education.
• Work with Infrastructure team on environment planning and capabilities management.
• Manage reporting and security aspects of the database.
• Improve infrastructure for automation of regression testing and static code analysis.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience administering database applications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• 3-5 years of experience in Database Administration in SQL Server 2008 - 2012.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues.
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization using Windows perfmon, MSSQL Profiler, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SSMS, MVS10).
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention.
• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, and Replication.
• Experience in implementing operational automation (SSIS).
• Knowledge of Database Security (encryptions/decryptions).
