The position of SQL DBA/Systems Administrator at a well-known financial conglomerate involves a comprehensive set of responsibilities centered around the management and optimization of SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will be tasked with creating, monitoring, backing up, recovering, and tuning SQL Server 2008 R2 databases within a multi-platform environment. This role requires a deep understanding of High Availability solutions and replication techniques to ensure database reliability and performance. In addition to database management, the candidate will utilize various tools such as Data Collection, Performance Monitor, and Extended Events to effectively manage CPU and memory resources across multiple instances of SQL Server. Proficiency in copying and migrating SQL Server 2008 R2 databases is essential, as is the ability to analyze performance using SQL Server Profiler to fine-tune database operations. The role also demands expertise in providing production support for over 20 instances of SQL Server (2005, 2008, and 2008 R2) running on Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2008 R2. The candidate will be responsible for 24x7 monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of SQL databases. Familiarity with Windows, Great Plains, Investran, and QuickBooks 2008 R2 is preferred, along with banking and financial experience.
