About the position

The SQL Server DBA position at Innova Solutions is a contract role focused on supporting legal investigations through data extraction and report creation. The role involves collaborating with legal analysts to provide meaningful data analysis, consulting with various stakeholders, and ensuring the quality and management of databases. The DBA will also be responsible for automating processes, improving data management procedures, and maintaining documentation related to projects and service requests.

Responsibilities

• Extract data and create reports to address legal questions in conjunction with discovery efforts.
• Work with legal analysts to provide data and analysis for submitted requests.
• Format and present data in a user-friendly manner.
• Consult with programmers, analysts, business users, and vendors on database and application software issues.
• Convert or transfer database files or tables to new formats and locations.
• Develop and test automated processes for report generation.
• Ensure documentation is prepared and updated for projects and service requests.
• Analyze database content and quality, recommending management procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Support cross-functional teams in understanding their data needs.

Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator in a Windows Server environment (2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, or 2019).
• Education in SQL Database Administration.
• Knowledge of application software tools and development methodologies.
• Experience with SQL Database management, SQL scripting/programming, and operating systems.
• Proficiency in SQL Management Studio and T-SQL (Stored Procedures, Triggers, Indexing, Agents).
• Strong organization and workload management skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Visual Studio (preferred).
• Experience with WebSphere Application Server (optional).
• Access DB experience (optional).
