About the position

The SQL Developer - Applications Programmer role at GD Resources involves developing and maintaining a workforce training data collection system. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the application of SQL coding skills to enhance data management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of the existing workforce training data collection system, its data elements, specifications, and population in preparation to build the new application.
  • Collaborate with information technology staff, MHEC's research and longitudinal teams, workgroups, institutions, private career schools, and stakeholders.
  • Perform coding in a SQL environment to build out the workforce training data collection system.
  • Develop SQL queries, stored-procedures, data loading processes, custom reports based on research requirements, and other data element specifications.
  • Build out comparisons and validations between the workforce training system and other established MHEC data collection systems.
  • Develop a structure and process for an internal workforce program inventory of approved programs.
  • Develop and maintain user and operations documentation as required until project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology or other related field.
  • At least eight years of experience in SQL development, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application systems and programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL database configurations and permissions.
  • Strong skillset in MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong experience as a team member and turning specifications into code.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to interact positively with all workgroups and stakeholders.
