About the position

The SQL Developer / Data Conversion Specialist will be responsible for creating web-based applications and enhancing legacy systems using various Microsoft technologies and SQL databases. This role involves collaborating with business analysts and users to gather requirements, develop applications, and ensure the smooth operation of internal business processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications to streamline internal business processes.
• Convert, extend, and enhance legacy applications; develop new applications as needed.
• Perform unit testing, end-to-end testing, and validation in a development environment.
• Follow development standards for naming conventions and user interface.
• Work on assigned tasks accurately and within set timelines.
• Troubleshoot defects and provide problem resolution.
• Collaborate with the Software Development Manager or Team Lead for solutions design.
• Provide task estimates and analysis to identify optimal design solutions.
• Work with users or Business Analysts to gather requirements and design systems.
• Conduct business professionally and ethically to enhance company goodwill and profitability.
• Support legacy systems as needed.

Requirements

• Proficient in SQL development.
• Basic knowledge of accounting systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Knowledge of IBM DB2 (a plus), MYSQL, PowerBI.
• Understanding of CDC mirroring and SQL replication or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve user issues.
• Ability to design and implement data conversion strategies.
• Experience with homebuilding software (e.g., ECI Mark Systems, Sage Timberline, Builder MT) preferred.
• Real estate homebuilding experience and familiarity with JDEdwards World Homebuilder Modules preferred.
