About the position

The SQL Developer/DBA position at Tradeweb Markets LLC is a senior-level role within the Global Database Engineering & Operation Group. This role is responsible for managing the entire database estate, ensuring high availability for production, test, and development systems. The position involves developing and modifying database schemas, ETL processes, and troubleshooting critical tasks, while collaborating with various technology teams to implement new strategies and technologies. The role is fully remote, with occasional travel to the Jersey City office for team meetings and organizational off-sites.

Responsibilities

• Developing and modifying database schema and code as per project requirements.
• Developing and modifying ETL processes, including SSIS packages and PowerShell/Python scripts.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting critical scheduled tasks and processes (SQLAgent jobs, etc.).
• Collaborating with Infrastructure and Line of Business Technology teams to architect and implement new technologies and strategies.
• Monitoring database performance, identifying potential problems, and proposing optimization strategies.
• Ensuring extremely high levels of availability for Production and UAT systems.
• Resolving any problems in these systems in a timely and professional manner.
• Investigating new database functionality.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of administration and development experience in MS SQL Server (2016/2017/2019).
• 5+ years of writing complex T-SQL queries and authoring/debugging stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Strong experience in creating and maintaining SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• 5+ years supporting a complex, large-scale, high transactional volume system to very high levels of availability.
• 4+ years of using PowerShell/Python to streamline and automate frequent/recurring tasks.
• Hands-on experience with database schema and code release processes.
• Experience evaluating query performance and implementing changes to improve it.
• Experience supporting Development, QA, and TechOps teams with data maintenance and query building.

Nice-to-haves

• An understanding of the fixed-income/derivatives/equity markets and the financial instruments that trade on them.
• Experience building and supporting SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
• Experience supporting all types of SQL Server replication.
• Experience with the Quest suite of monitoring tools.
• Experience using Solarwinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
