About the position

The SQL Developer I position at Vistar is focused on true SQL development for the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role involves collaborating with a small team of developers and business analysts to create and modify custom business applications using SQL. The developer will engage directly with business stakeholders and IT management to gather requirements, propose improvements, and deliver well-documented solutions that meet business needs while adhering to coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, project managers, architects, and business analysts to develop new technology and enhance existing applications.
• Develop medium to large scale applications with medium complexity using MS SQL Server for High Jump WMS.
• Create, test, and support existing T-SQL scripts.
• Design, develop, and implement business applications using current technologies.
• Prepare design documents including technical specifications, functional requirements, object modules, and system test plans.
• Ensure successful project completion that meets defined requirements.
• Provide support for maintaining existing applications.
• Participate in team code reviews and support rotation as required, including nightly and weekend support.
• Work in a fast-paced agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 to 3 years of SQL development experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
