About the position

The SQL Developer I at Elevance Health is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of data mining analyses to enhance reporting functionality and identify data relationships and patterns. This role acts as a liaison between business partners and SQL Developers, creating project documentation, managing concurrent projects, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines. The position requires effective communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to lead mid-sized projects and support junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and execution of data mining analyses.
• Act as a liaison between internal and external business partners and SQL Developers.
• Create project documentation including functional and technical specifications, requirements, use-cases, testing scenarios, and project plans.
• Communicate status, changes, and issues to relevant parties and stakeholders.
• Address and escalate project issues and support their resolution.
• Shift priorities to support urgent business needs.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization.
• Manage concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Query the source system to ensure final output conforms to requested specifications.
• Ensure end products comply with HIPAA security and privacy guidelines.
• Lead and manage mid-sized projects involving client engagement.
• Guide, support, and advise junior team members.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Analytical experience in data mining and SQL development.
• Strong communication skills.
• Project planning and management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong PC skills and analytical problem-solving ability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and plan projects.
• Experience with SQL, GQL, SAS, and Business Objects.
